Beginning July 1, 2020 bulky items will be collected by appointment only for all areas of O`ahu. The regular monthly collections will end on June 30, 2020. For more information and to schedule your appointment, go to www.opala.org.
2020 Refuse and Recycling Collection Calendar:

This includes grass, tree and hedge trimmings, garden fruits and vegetables; Christmas trees (no ornaments or flocking).
This includes newspaper, corrugated cardboard, white and colored office paper, paper bags, glass bottles and jars, all metal cans, and plastic containers #1 and #2 plastic codes. Material must be clean. No lids or caps. Do not bag.
No other paper, magazines, telephone books, glossy paper, cereal or tissue boxes. No other glass, such as drinking glasses, ceramics, window glass. No other plastic, such as polystyrene foam, plastic tubs, plastic bags, plastic toys.

Rules for bulky item pickup
What will be collected as bulky items?
Household items too large to fit into your regular trash. Furniture, mattresses, bed frames and box springs, rolled up and fastened carpeting, appliances, minor home repairs/remodeling materials not to exceed one cubic yard. Tree branches or stumps larger than 9 inches in diameter; must be cut to lengths less than 3 feet. See the list of items while scheduling your appointment for more information.
What will not be collected as bulky items?
Any refuse suitable for regular collection; small enough to fit into your gray cart. Commercial grade and/or sized items (office copiers, hospital-type beds, commercial appliances). Major construction and renovation materials such as tile, drywall and demolition debris. Dirt, rock and concrete (take to City Landfill).
Special waste items, such as tires, propane tanks, fire extinguishers, auto batteries and green waste must be dropped off at City disposal sites. See the drop-off locations page for more information.
